There is one writer whose readings I don’t like to miss. I scan through the Stranger each week in the Readings section for his name. Sherman Alexie. Always entertaining, my favorite were the readingsĀ of his poems. For a while that was all he read, then he decided he was sick of reading them. I don’t blame him, after all reading the same material over and over could get tiresome to oneself. I never tired of it, but then who am I, just a fan. So, you can imagine my surprise when I saw that Sherman was reading new work – NEW POETRY . I missed the reading by two days. How frustrating. But you can bet I’ll be on the look out and (hopefully) catch the next one. Knowing this man’s work, I highly recommend purchasing his latest creation, What I’ve Stolen, What I’ve Earned. Maybe I’ll see you at his next reading in the autograph line. Also, I owe him the price of a ferry ride. But that’s a story for another time.
