Loosely based on Homer’s “Odyssey,” I’d argue this movie, O Brother, Where Art Thou?  should also be listed under the category “musical” but it’s not. When I ask  people about their thoughts,  there is an evenly divided split between folks who consider this movie a musical and those who don’t. The good news is no matter what camp you are in, they all agree it’s an enjoyable, fun flick to watch.

I love seeing George Clooney in this role, as it’s a far cry from his more sophisticated serious roles he usually plays.

Why do I think it’s a musical? Sirens singing, dancing and singing KKK, gang chain singing…an album produced…really do I need go on?

Either way – I highly recommend reading The Odyssey followed by viewing this film.
